Implementation Analyst
Location: Raleigh, North Carolina, United States

The Implementation Analyst is responsible for performing a wide range of activities related to the implementation and support of our suite of products specific to the Logistics and Supply Chain industry. The candidate will interact directly with our global customers and their logistics service providers, offering product expertise, assisting them with the successful implementation of our product solutions, and liaising with the internal Amber Road teams to resolve technical issues. The candidate will also be responsible for the ongoing daily support of their assigned customer accounts as well as maintaining positive customer relationships. The candidate will be responsible for managing multiple projects, while simultaneously assuring timely implementation of solutions provided to customers in accordance with a defined process. The successful candidate must have polished presentation skills, patience and an enthusiastic attitude. The ideal candidate must also have strong analytical skills in order to understand and address customer needs, and must be able to effectively communicate, track and meet delivery deadlines.

Job Description/Responsibilities:

  • Performs project implementations for our worldwide customers and their logistics service providers from project inception through completion
  • Reads / interprets EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) specifications and related mapping guides and technical documents and performs related analysis of EDI messages
  • Uses various tools to create and analyze reports in support of customer data certification efforts, and to identify issues requiring resolution
  • Creates and maintains tracking logs and other materials in order to document issues with inbound and outbound data, tracking those issues to resolution
  • Monitors, manages and resolves customer requests in a timely and courteous manner
  • Leads WebEx training sessions and meetings as needed (a small number of which may be held during off-hours due to the international nature of our customer base) for 2-10 people at a time

Qualifications:

Required:

  • BS/BA Degree in relevant field.
  • Experience with various software applications including Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
  • Experience managing projects (documenting processes and practices, accepted project methodology)
  • Experience in technical / data analysis and troubleshooting
  • Experience managing customer expectations and resolving customer issues and concerns
  • Experience working with relational databases and with creating / editing SQL queries
  • Ability to work on multiple complex tasks concurrently
  • Can work independently or in team structure
  • Ability to form consensus and provide team leadership
  • Can take initiative and make decisions as necessary
  • Strong written and oral communications skills (including technical writing and presentation skills)
  • Must be an entrepreneurial, self-starter possessing excellent time management skills

Inside Sales Representative
Location: Raleigh, NC, United States

A Business Development Representative is responsible for proactive outbound prospecting and lead management. This position will have a direct impact on our success by advancing qualified prospects from lead status into the sales pipeline.

This role will act as a layer between marketing and sales. As the first point of contact with new prospects, the goal of the Business Development Representative will be to qualify the lead through various discovery methods and secure a hand-off to an assigned Sales Director for opportunity development.

Position​ Responsibilities

  • Pre-qualify inquiries/leads generated via web and other sources using email and phone
  • Generate interest and appointments by means of proactive outbound prospecting and lead activity management in an effort to qualify and market our solutions to potential customers
  • Work directly with Marketing to discover opportunities from marketing-sourced leads and schedule appointments from those leads

Qualifications

  • BA / BS in a related area
  • 2-4 years professional experience; preference for candidates with experience supporting software marketing, business development and sales activities

  • Experience with solutions in the supply chain or global transportation industries a plus

Software Implementation Project Manager
Location: McLean, VA, United States

Amber Road is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee Amber Road Trade Compliance and Logistics software implementations for our customers. The Project Manager will interact with the trade compliance, IT, and supply chain/logistics organizations within the client to ensure that our software solution meets their business drivers. The Project Manager is responsible for managing simultaneous projects for multiple customers and for ongoing customer relationship management activities.

Position​ Responsibilities

  • Manage Amber Road software implementation projects, including:

    • Definition of Project Scope
    • Creation of Work Breakdown Structure and Project Schedule
    • Cost Estimation
    • Budget Monitoring and Change Control
    • Oversight of Project Deliverables
    • Management of a 2-8 person Amber Road Project Team
    • Written and Oral communication of Project Status and Risk to Customer Team
    • Issue resolution and escalation to Amber Road Executive Management as required
    • Contract Administration and Invoicing
  • Formulate implementation estimates and negotiate Statements of Work with customers and future prospects
  • Act as overall Amber Road Customer Relationship Manager after the implementation is complete
  • Act as Customer advocate for future product enhancements and functionality

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferably B.A or B.S.) from an accredited college or university is required.  Master’s degree and/or Project Management certification is a plus.
  • Minimum 5 years of client management experience for a Software Professional Services organization
  • Experience in International Trade, Logistics Management, or ERP Systems is a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate to various stakeholder audiences, including business, technical, and executive levels
  • Proven experience in software implementation methodologies and best practices
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and mentor a project team
  • Demonstrated skill to manage multiple projects simultaneously and flourish in a true multi-tasking environment

The Technical Consultant provides technical guidance and expertise to customers during implementation of Amber Road software solutions.

Job Description/Responsibilities

  • Provide technical expertise, guidance, presentation, and instruction on company Global Trade Management products to clients: 
    • Assist in the implementation scope determination and planning effort, including development of the overall project plan as well as individual work plans
    • Provide periodic status updates on SLA parameters, issue logs status, and overall implementation status
    • Acts as liaison between project needs and internal cross-functional teams
  • Installation and configuration/development of the product: 
    • Perform initial baseline installation of the product
    • Configure the product per the requirements specifications and design documents
  • Work with clients / end-users in executing test plans and test scenarios: 
    • Participate in solution testing, user acceptance testing, change control and training
    • Help implement changes as necessary based upon testing results

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer science, or engineering 
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in:
    • Core Java/JEE development experience
    • Experience using Java-based frameworks such as Hibernate and Spring a plus
    • Understanding of relational databases concepts- preferably Oracle with PL/SQL development
    • Understanding of XML
