Business Systems Analyst
Location: Munich, Germany, Europe

The Business Systems Analyst analyzes our customer’s trade compliance processes and implements the Amber Road software solution to address their business needs.  The Business Systems Analyst is the subject matter expert in Amber Road software solutions during the customer implementation.

Job Description/Responsibilities

  • Work with a project team to implement Amber Road software for our customers, including:

    • Analysis of As-Is Trade Compliance Processes
    • Definition of To-Be Trade Compliance Processes related to the Amber Road application(s)
    • Documentation of detailed Functional Requirements
    • Identification of any necessary product modifications and enhancements to satisfy customer needs
    • Definition and documentation of the integration between the customers ERP system(s) and the Amber Road application(s)
    • Interaction with the Amber Road technical team to define and deliver any required product modifications and enhancements
    • Oversight of required Test cycles
    • Training of customer end users
  • Assist with implementation estimates for customers and future prospects
  • Serve as functional expert for all Amber Road software modules
  • Maintain high degree of knowledge/understanding of Trade/Logistics industry and changes that could impact software functionality


Required Skills:

  • Fluent in English
  • Ability to communicate complex processes and functions to various stakeholder audiences, including business, technical, and executive levels
  • Proven experience in software implementation methodologies and best practices
  • Proven ability to facilitate customer meetings and requirement gathering sessions
  • Demonstrated skill to work on multiple projects simultaneously and flourish in a true multi-tasking environment
  • Ability to make decisions and work independently

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferably B.A or B.S.) from an accredited college or university is required
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of consulting experience for a Software Professional Services organization
  • Experience in International Trade, Logistics Management, or ERP - Sales Order Management  / Purchase Order Management Systems is a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software suite
  • Experience with writing simple SQL queries
  • Ability to travel 50-75%

Software Support Engineer
Location: Munich, Germany, Europe

The successful candidate will be responsible for the triage of incoming Salesforce support cases via phone and email. Support Cases that are emailed (approx. 80%) are automatically created in Salesforce, but need to have required fields populated and then routed to the correct queue's. In addition to the case triage responsibilities, the candidate will be handling account maintenance related cases and other account maintenance items within certain products. This position will have the key responsibility for being the 1st respondent in some instances, severity 1 issues. Candidate must be able to work well under pressure and pay attention to detail in logging important information that applies to the description of the issue. The candidate will have the opportunity to grow into other areas within support as they become proficient in learning Amber Road's products and setting a solid performance track record on prior tasks.

Job Description/Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the timely and accurate creation of support cases and updating support cases with the required fields
  • Responsible for owning the support case through case closure and providing timely updates through the life of the case
  • Escalating to support management when needed
  • Demonstrate the ability of having the aptitude to learn quickly and grow into positions requiring more responsibility
  • Works well within a team environment and openly communicates to ensure cases are moving out of “new” status and response time SLA’s are being met


  • Education:  BA or BS in supply chain, business, computer science or experience in related field preferred
  • 3 or more years’ experience with an external facing software support organization
  • Fluent in English
  • Proficient with or other support ticketing software
  • Proficient with the following software tools:  MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook
  • Exceptional written and oral communications skills (including technical writing)
  • Must be comfortable in a fast-paced, team environment; take initiative and able to make important decisions quickly
  • Ability to work and lead with minimal supervision on unstructured assignments, yet keep all parties apprised of developments. Can take initiative and make decisions as necessary.
  • Ability to prioritize assignments/projects and multi-task within restricted time constraints

Technical Consultant
Location: Munich, Germany, Europe

The Technical Consultant provides technical guidance and expertise to customers during implementation of Amber Road software solutions. 

Job Description/Responsibilities

  • Provide technical expertise, guidance, presentation, and instruction on company Global Trade Management products to clients:

    • Assist in the implementation scope determination and planning effort, including development of the overall project plan as well as individual work plans
    • Provide periodic status updates on SLA parameters, issue logs status, and overall implementation status
    • Acts as liaison between project needs and internal cross-functional teams
  • Installation and configuration/development of the product:
    • Perform initial baseline installation of the product
    • Configure the product per the requirements specifications and design documents
  • Work with clients / end-users in executing test plans and test scenarios:
    • Participate in solution testing, user acceptance testing, change control and training
    • Help implement changes as necessary based upon testing results


  • Bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer science, or engineering
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in:
    • Core Java/JEE development experience
    • Experience using Java-based frameworks such as Hibernate and Spring a plus
    • Understanding of relational databases concepts- preferably Oracle with PL/SQL development
    • Understanding of XML
    • Experience with HTML and JavaScript a plus
    • Experience with the installation/configuration of JEE servers like WebLogic/WebSphere/Tomcat/JBoss a plus
  • Fluent in English
  • System Implementation & Integration experience with ERP like Oracle, SAP and PeopleSoft Order Management System
  • Consulting experience to implement product at customer location integrated with ERP
  • Experience in supply chain/logistics/global trade domain a plus
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Willingness to travel to customer locations 20 to 40% of the time
  • Candidates having consulting experience in software system installation, configuration, and implementation at customer locations will be preferred
